| WHO WE ARE... First
Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian
Church, a network of like-minded churches around the country. Frequently
Asked Questions regarding the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination. “Presbyterian” refers to the way we share leadership in the church. It comes from the word used in the Bible for “elder”, when mature people were looked to for leadership. In Presbyterian churches “elders” are those the congregation choose and call to lead the church. Presbyterians have their roots in the Protestant Reformation. As Presbyterians we believe in one baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sins. All who have been baptized are invited to share Holy Communion which FPC celebrates on the first Sunday of each month and on special occasions.
