First Presbyterian Church, EPC
1219 8th Street - Levelland, Tx 79336

"FPC is a
'home for my heart.' "

Seventy Years

There's a church
down on the corner
that's stood the test
of time.
First Presbyterian
is what they call it,
that old church home
of mine.
There are other chuches in our town with names
and larger towers,
But none I've found
with all we have--
a church that's just like ours.

No, it's not
the largest church
but when we walk
through its doors,
an air of peace there lives within,
an air we can't ignore.
The Holy Spirit greets us there
as we lift our voice
in praise,
A tribute
to our Savior fair
and the life
He freely gave.

For seventy years
our humble church
has stood the test
of time
in the hands of folks
who love the Lord
and some are friends
of mine.
It never
could have stood
by man's own hand
in the midst of disaccord.
Our church survives
by prayer and faith
with the help
of Christ our Lord.
